What is The Pomezzana Academy
In a small village, close to the Carrara marble groves and the city of Pietrasanta, in the northern mountains of Tuscany, lies an old school building in a small village. The village counts around 100 inhabitants and lies on the slopes of the Apuan Alps, around 20 minutes drive from Pietrasanta, the city that is famous for its culture and history around sculpture.
The school building has been out of use for over 20 years and needs some proper renovation, however, when we found the building we realized this place is magical. The serenity of the mountains, the quiet village and yet the proximity to the marble groves and sculpture capital of Italy, we realized this building needed a new destination.
And so we decided to start renovating and revive the building as a school for fine arts and personal development.
